DISTRICT
OUR CONSERVATION MOVEMENT
Founded in 1953, PIKE COUNTY CONSERVATION DISRICT is a locally led organization that assists the community in addressing all natural resource concerns in Pike County. We are made up of seven supervisors and are nonprofit. Our goal is to protect natural resources and improve our soil and water quality in partnership with farmers, landowners, foresters, and wildlife enthusiast, by providing conservation programs.

VOLUNTEERING
Our work is never done, and we can use all the help we can get. One of the ways you can take part is by Volunteering. Spread the word about all that PIKE COUNTY CONST DIST is doing, and help us gain the support we need.
RECYCLE
Properly disposing of old appliances improves our water quality and the effects on the environmental and economic health of our county.

PIKE COUNTY CAIP
Applications for 2023 has not opened yet. Producer meeting will be held after applications are accepted. This meeting is to help fill out applications and answer questions
ART & WRITNG CONTEST
Each fall we distribute tabloids to all the schools for the Art and Writing Contest. K-5 students participate in the Art portion and 6-12 students participate in the Writing portion. Awards are given out in April at the banquet.
COUNTY COST SHARE
Assist landowners in addressing conservation needs. This program is a 50/50 match with a max of $500.00 for  lime and fertilizer, pasture and hayland planting, Backyard Conservation includes pollinator gardens fruit trees, bat houses, rain barrels and compost bins.  For beekeeping 50/50 match with a max of $500.00 for equipment: smokers, honey extractors,  (including wooden ware) seeds (clovers, buckwheat, others), electric fence to keep out bears, feeds (sugar, pollen substitute. Application is under the tab
AGRICULTURE WATER QUALITY ACT

​Upcoming Events
JUNIOR CONSERVATION BOARD
What does a Junior Board do? Students 8 to 12 grade. Volunteer to create and implement local conservation projects. Get experience holding professional meetings, working as a team, gain experience public speaking and working with the public. Help Conservation District with Seed Swap, tree seedling giveaway, garden seed giveaway, setting up at farmer's market, build raised garden beds at Cedar Creek Assisted Living, collect donations for flood victims. participated in trunk or treat. Plan and help with educational programs such as remake learning day events, camp days for kids 5-7 years old.
Gives students to opportunity to earn volunteer hours and do community service work. Looks great on college and job applications. Seniors that are members for 2 receive $250.00 scholarship and a graduation cord.
